Experience with Sound - Part III

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

I went to a Jonathan Goldman Sound Conference several years ago entitled the “Lost Chord” when I was first learning about chanting and sound. A friend of mine thought I would be interested in Jonathan’s conference and forwarded a link to it. I had never heard of him but received strong guidance to go even though I did not know anyone at the event.

Once I arrived, I found out there were people from all over the world attending this event. Here I thought I was going to a little conference and found out it was a big deal. What a surprise!
I went thinking I was attending an easy and fun workshop and quickly realized otherwise as we chanted and worked with sound for 10 hours a day for 4 days in a row. It was exhausting and intense. The continual barrage of sound brought forth waves of issues for me. One issue after another would arise incredibly fast. But was even more amazing was how quickly those issues would be cleared. It felt like issue, then bam, answer. Issue, then bam, answer. This happened time after time after time..

At the time, I did not realize how much I was learning and taking in. It was as if the sound intensive engulfed me. I came away with almost a physical sense of what working with sound was all about. This was also another example of how sound helps with clearing our emotional issues.  I also learned that Jonathan had imprinted different symbols into his recordings. He truly was an artist when it came to incorporating sacred sounds and symbols. I was truly blessed when I listened to spirit and showed up at the doorstep of his sound intensive conference.
